Atención: Paro afectará vuelos de Alitalia mañana jueves 22 de Septiembre

Está previsto un paro para el jueves 22 de septiembre de 2016 y el mismo generará la cancelación de muchos vuelos.

A number of unions (ANPAC, ANPAV and USB), representing various Alitalia pilots and flight attendants, have confirmed a strike of 24 hours for 22 September, despite cancellation of industrial action by national unions (CGIL, CISL, UIL and UGL) following an agreement with the company.

The strike will result in the inevitable cancellation of many flights. Our top priority right now is to minimise inconvenience to our passengers, and with this in mind, we have already implemented special measures.

Already on Monday 19 September we took steps to rebook as many of the passengers affected by cancellations as possible, on the first available flights.

Additional staff will be on hand in the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate to assist customers, and we have also boosted staff numbers at the call centre, which can be called from Italy using the toll-free number 800 650 055. For those calling from abroad, the number is +39 06 65649.

Despite our efforts, however, the strike will inevitably cause disruption. To try to limit this as much as possible, we ask all passengers to contact the call centre to check on the status of their flight before going to the airport.

Detailed information on re-booking is available at alitalia.com. Passengers can choose whether to have their tickets reimbursed or change their flights free of charge until 30 November, again contacting the toll-free number 800 650 055 or, from abroad, +39 06 65649.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this decision by some unions may cause.

All passengers holding a confirmed reservation and a ticket issued on flights affected by the strike can choose the following options:

REBOOKING

Without penalty only on Alitalia operating and marketing flights in the same booking class or in the first available one. The reservation can be changed within November 30, 2016.
Travel must be completed within the ticket validity. The original duration of stay may be preserved.

REROUTING

Without penalty on Alitalia operating and marketing flights in the same booking class or in the first available one.
The travel must be done via intermediate point on the same origin and destination. The reservation must be changed within 30th November, 2016. Travel must be completed within the ticket validity.
The original duration of stay may be preserved.

CHANGE OF ORIGIN AND/OR DESTINATION

The full or partial value of the original ticket may be used to buy new Alitalia tickets. The new fare must be recalculated using the applicable fare for the new origin/destination. Reservation must be done not later than 30th November, 2016.

SCHEDULE CHANGE SUPERIOR THAN 5 HOURS (ahead of time or delayed)

In case the re-scheduled departure time are such that the passenger is no longer interested in the flight, he/she may renounce to the flight and may request the Carrier to refund the amount paid, without any penalty of completely/partially unused ticket, in the original form of payment.

SCHEDULE CHANGE (tickets sold in USA)

In case the re scheduled departure time are such that the passenger is no longer interested in the flight, he/she may request to be re-booked/re-routed (via intermediate point on same origin and destination) without any penalty and without any additional cost.
In case the Carrier cannot offer any alternate acceptable flight, passenger may renounce to the flight and may request the Carrier to refund the amount paid, without any penalty of completely/partially unused ticket, in the original form of payment.

REFUND

Full Refund without any penalty of completely/partially unused ticket in the original form of payment. Passengers with open ticket, without reservation, will have the refund of not used ticket.

MILLEMIGLIA AWARD TICKETS

Millemiglia Customers will be reprotected on Alitalia flights in the award classes provided, subject to the space availability.
In case of travel renounce passengers can ask for miles refund.
